Both rookies and experienced drivers took part in the class, designed to sharpen winter driving, plowing, and salting skills, as well as focus on the value of an effective, cost-efficient, and safe snow-fighting operation for county workers, residents and business owners.
Rockland County's average plow is a large dump truck that weighs 60,000 pounds when loaded with six tons of salt and equipped with front and side plows.
