ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rockland legislatior Ken Zebrowski is looking to propose legislation that would require law enforcement to send change of address forms to the state Divisino of Criminal Justice Services, according to lohud.com.
Local law enforcement agencies currently collect the forms, but aren't under any obligation to report the address changes to the state. This loophole has caused Zebrowski to question the effectiveness of the Sex Offender Registry, lohud.com reported.
Zebrowski's proposed legislation would require local agencies to report address changes to DCJS within three days, lohud.com said.
