A committee has been working since last summer to find a replacement for outgoing college President Cliff Wood, who is to retire in June after 13 years in the position, according to lohud.com.

As of this week, the 15-member committee has narrowed the list of candidates for the office down to four, according to lohud.com, which reported that each of the potential college leaders is from the New York/New Jersey area.

The candidates are Michael Baston, acting provost and vice president for academic and student affairs at LaGuardia Community College; Susan Deer, Wood’s second-in-command who serves as provost and executive vice president at RCC; Eric Friedman, vice president of academic affairs at Hudson County Community College; and Mark McCormick, vice president for academic and student affairs at Middlesex County College, according to lohud.com.

A final decision will be made by RCC’s Board of Trustees and the SUNY Board of Trustees, according to lohud.com, which reported that the SUNY trustees are likely to vote on the appointment on March 23.
