CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Remember the olden days when the teacher used to introduce herself to students by using an annoyingly squeaky piece of chalk to write her name on the blackboard?
(I can picture the pained expressions on the kids’ faces now.)
The Clarkstown Central School District has managed to put a new twist on the classroom ritual with a video of its latest hires.
Each new educator states his or her name, the subject he or she will teach, and the school or schools where he or she has been assigned.
Among the 25 new hires are teachers, classroom aides, a school counselor and a school psychologist.
