State Powers North Rockland, Suffern Mix It Up In Softball Thriller

THIELLS, N.Y. - The Suffern High School softball team hit the road Thursday afternoon to take on North Rockland in a game played at North Rockland High School in Thiells.

The Mounties out-hit the host, but it was North Rockland - the state's top-ranked Class AA team - that went on to claim an 8-4 victory behind ace Kayla McDermott, upping the team's record to a shiny 18-0.

Allie Schepis had two RBI for Suffern, and Allie Wood added two RBI, as the Mounties fell to 12-4.

Alicia Bertolino drove in three runs for North Rockland, and Bella Chiorazzi added two RBI.

The win also clinched a league title for North Rockland.
