First County Bank Employees In Stamford Gather School Supplies
STAMFORD, Conn. -- First County Bank employees in Stamford participated in the Human Services Council’s Donate a Backpack for Family Day program to provide students with backpacks and school supplies for the 2016-17 school year.
First County Bank employees donated pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, calculators, highlighters, erasers, notebooks, folders and 88 backpacks with a total of $2,760 in school supplies, which were distributed by the Human Services Council as part of its Family Day celebration.

Aileen Carey Becker, 87, Former Norwalk Resident
NORWALK, Conn. -- Aileen Carey Becker, formerly of Norwalk, died Saturday, Sept. 17. She was 87.Becker was born Nov. 29, 1928, to the late Monica and John Carey in Long Island. Having moved to Connecticut from Queens in 1956, she lived in Norwalk for 47 years before she and her husband retired to Southbury.
After graduating from Notre Dame College in Staten Island, she enjoyed careers in both teaching and banking. She was an active member of the communities she lived in. Having grown up enjoying camping adventures, she continued the tradition with her children and could easily identify edib…
Victorian Splendor Tour Plans Stops Across Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. -- A bus tour of Norwalk's Gilded Age homes, churches and monuments will take place on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Titled "Victorian Splendor: The Homes, Churches and Monuments of Norwalk's Gilded Age," the bus tour will feature re-enactors who will revive the late 19th-century atmosphere. There will be four stops along the way, with refreshments served at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, at the end of the tour.
