The incident occurred in Parsippany at Route 46 and North Beverywck Road, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.  The road is closed for as the investigation continues and motorists should expect delays, Parsippany police said.

Truck Bursts Into Flames On I-80: Allamuchy FD A truck fire sent smoke billowing into the sky on I-80 in Warren County on Sunday, April 7, authorities said. At 11:30 a.m., first responders arrived tat I-80 West by Exit 19 and confirmed the fire, the Allamuchy Fire Department said in a release.  Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, bringing it under control within minutes, fire officials said. Firefighters remained on scene until 12:30 p.m., fire officials said. There were no reports of any injuries.

Man Arrested After Firing Gun In Maplewood Domestic Dispute: Cops A 38-year-old Maplewood man was arrested and charged after he fired a gunshot during a domestic disturbance on Sunday, April 7, police said. Officers initially responded to the scene for the domestic incident and after an on-scene investigation arrested Kevin Lafferty, Maplewood police said in a release.  Lafferty was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and possession of hollow point ammunition during the commission of a crime, police said. Two Juveniles Arrested For Vehicle Theft: Nutley PD Two juveniles have been apprehended after a car was stolen in Nutley last month, police said. On Wednesday, March 6 at 4:21 a.m., the two juveniles entered a home on Alexander Avenue through a rear door and stole the keys to a Land Rover parked in the driveway, Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said. The vehicle was recovered in East Orange a day later, police said. The juveniles have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and motor vehicle theft, police said.

Man Who Sexually Assaulted Young Girl At Large: Somerset County Prosecutor A 38-year-old Somerset resident is at large after he sexually assaulted a girl for four years authorities said. From 2018 through 2022, Cipriano Diaz sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 13, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The assaults occurred in Franklin Township, authorities said. A warrant has been issued for Diaz's arrest, authorities said. Diaz is 6'3" and weighs 210 pounds. Morris County Closes Offices After Gas Leak Caused By Earthquake Morris County government offices in Morristown are closed for the remainder of Friday, April 5 following the 4.8 earthquake that shook up New Jersey this morning. The decision to close was made as a result of a gas leak in the Administration/Hall of Records building at 10 Court St., which forced an evacuation, Morris County Government said on Facebook. All essential staff and all emergency response personnel are working, Morris County said.
