Her recent trip to Honduras, in which she performed a remarkable 46 pro bono cataract surgeries in three days, will forever be one of her most memorable. New Head Pro Named For Longshore Golf Club in Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- After working at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull for 14 years, Jon Janik was not going to move on to just any other position. Water Street In Norwalk Closed Due To Flooding NORWALK, Conn. -- Water Street in Norwalk was closed around noon between Elizabeth and Concord due to flooding, according to the Norwalk Police Department.The department urged people not to attempt to drive through high water areas. Honeysuckle Hill Lane, Silver Hill Road Closed In Easton EASTON, Conn. -- Honeysuckle Hill Lane in Easton was closed around 1 p.m. due to a downed power line.Silver Hill Road, near Honeysuckle Hill Lane, was also closed because of a tree across the road. Fairfield Girl Wins Gold At National Track & Field Meet FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Southport resident Tess Stapleton won two medals, one gold, over the weekend at the USA Hershey National Youth Indoor track and field championships in New York. Stapleton, an eighth-grader at Roger Ludlowe Middle School, won the long jump and finished seventh in the high jump in the 13-14 age division at the meet, which was held in Staten Island, N.Y.
