At 10:45 PM, the Clarkstown Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at 151 N. Hikers Rescued In Hook Mountain For Second Time In Less Than Two Weeks UPPER NYACK, N.Y. -- For the second time in less than two weeks, Nyack Fire Department has been called out to rescue distressed hikers on Hook Mountain.  Two out-of-town women in their 20s left the trial and found themselves disoriented when they called on their cell phones for help around 1 p.m. Monday.  Fire Chief Vincent Reid said, "They couldn't go up and they couldn't go down; they were petrified because they felt trapped." Rockland Man Hurt In Construction Collapse MONSEY — A man helping to build a house on Gibbs Court suffered a non-life threatening head injury Thursday, officials said. Member of the Rockland County Technical Rescue Team quickly pulled the worker from the under-construction basement after a wooden wall that was supporting it collapsed on him around 1:30 p.m., county spokesman Scott Salotto said. The victim was conscious and alert before he was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, Salotto said. The Monsey Fire Department also responded to the incident, which was originally thought to be a trench collapse.

Hiker's Dramatic Rescue Takes Several Hours At Nyack Beach State Park CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Nyack volunteer firefighters Monday rescued a hiker who fell down Hook Mountain from a trail onto a ledge.  The incident started around 12:30 when the hiker, who was on a ledge clinging for his life, called his girlfriend from his cell phone. He also took cell phone footage, hoping it would help rescuers guide them to his location.  While waiting to be rescued, he was taking footage on his cell phone.
