Seven Displaced After Poughkeepsie House Fire Seven people were displaced following an early morning structure fire Wednesday in Poughkeepsie, said the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department. Firefighters responded to 172 Mansion St. at around 4:20 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke in the two-and-a-half-story home, the department said. The fire caused significant damage to all areas of the home making it uninhabitable. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 8:51 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Green, 36, died Tuesday at Vassar Brothers Medical Center from her injuries, the Journal said. The crash occurred around 12:12 a.m. Saturday on westbound Route 44/55 at the intersection of Lucy Lane in the Town of Plattekill when Green, driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, before exiting the roadway and striking a tree, state police said. Town Of Poughkeepsie Human Remains Case Cause Of Death Determined A 49-year-old local man has been identified as the person whose remains were uncovered near the intersection of Route 44 and 55 in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office said the man killed himself by hanging, according to Dr. Dennis Chute.  "His death was a suicide," Chute said. The remains were recovered at around 10:15 a.m. near Arthur May School, prompting a heavy police response.
