Motorists planning on traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Rockland County can expect nightly delays as crews continue construction activity in Haverstraw and Stony Point through mid-September.
Lasting until Friday, Sept. 15, there will be a full closure of the southbound lanes between Exit 18 (Route 6) and Exit 15 (Old Gate Hill Road) from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on nights into early mornings on weekdays. On Saturdays, a single southbound lane is expected to remain closed until 10 a.m. as crews complete work.
Day 1 for the work was Monday, Aug. 7.
Additionally, closures are expected intermittently on that stretch on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Single northbound lane closures will continue on the parkway between 8 p.m. and noon.
There will be signage in place to alert motorists of the detours and drivers can expect delays in the area as crews work.
