ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - Clarkstown will remember two police officers and a Brinks armored car guard that were killed nearly four decades ago on Friday, leading to street closures in the area.
For approximately two hours, beginning at 4 p.m., Mountainview Avenue in Central Nyack will be closed between Gail Drive and Route 59 for the annual Brinks Memorial Ceremony. Motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes during that time.
The ceremony honoring police Sgt. Edward O’Grady, Waverly Brown and guard Peter Paige will include a wreath-laying, rifle salute and police honor guard. The ceremony is expected to conclude at approximately 6 p.m.
