A 34-year-old man has been charged with felony grand larceny and identity theft after allegedly attempting to withdraw $45,000 from a bank account that did not belong to him. The incident occurred in Rockland County on Wednesday, April 10 at the Affinity Federal Credit Union in Nanuet. Two lottery players have a pocketful of cash after purchasing a winning third-prize Powerball ticket in the Hudson Valley. According to the New York Lottery, the winning tickets were sold in Rockland County at the Shell Gas Station, owned by MS Corp, located at 255 S. Main St., in New City. The winners picked four correct numbers, and the Powerball won with extra help by purchasing a Powerplay ticket, lottery officials said. Hudson Valley Fire Leaves 24 Homeless, Injures 2
At least two residential buildings were destroyed during a two-alarm fire in the Hudson Valley that left 24 people homeless. The incident occurred in Orange County at 11:20 p.m. on Monday, April 8, at 59 and 61 Carter St., in the city of Newburgh. According to Mike Neppl, a spokesman for the Newburgh Fire Department, arriving units found the rear of 59 and 61 Carter Street fully involved with fire, which was spreading to the interior of the buildings. Rite Aid has announced new store closures after the struggling pharmacy chain filed for bankruptcy in the fourth quarter of 2023. Police are investigating following the shooting of a Hudson Valley man who was found inside a laundromat. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, in Spring Valley. According to Det.
