Poblete popped into a convenience store in Sloatsburg last May to play her usual Powerball or Mega Millions, but on a whim instead decided to buy a CASH4LIFE scratch-off ticket.
The health-care worker said she was shocked to find, after matching all six numbers, that she had won a jackpot of $7 million. She later chose to take a lump sum payment of $4.6 million.
She bought her winning ticket at Super 7 Express on Orange Turnpike.
Perhaps sensing a “lucky” fruit theme, Poblete is now opening a Red Mango Yogurt Café Smoothie and Juice Bar in Nanuet.
The franchise founder, Dan Kim, opened the first Red Mango in 2007. Today, the Dallas-based chain said, there are more than 300 locations around the nation.
According to Red Mango spokesperson Melissa Rubin, Poblete hopes to open the new store in 2017. She did not give the location for the store.
“I am so excited to open my first franchise location in Nanuet and share my love for Red Mango with the community,” said Poblete. “I wanted to offer the public something healthy and Red Mango fit the bill with its fresh, high-quality and flavorful menu.”
The company’s website says its nonfat and low-fat yogurts, smoothies and parfaits contain live active cultures, are certified gluten-free and come in such mouthwatering flavors as white peach, peanut butter, Caribbean coconut, espresso, banana, and, of course, mango.
Red Mango stores also serve raw, fresh-squeezed, ice-filtered juices and made-to-order cafe meals under 500 calories.
It will be the chain’s first location in Nanuet.

Rudy Frederico, its director of franchise development, said Red Mango was looking forward to both helping Poblete “build her business” and giving the community “a perfect place to sit back, relax and dig in -- spoon first.”
