Hundreds of people came out to try the new craft-your-own-pizza concept and to support People to People. Guests were able to name their price for their first pizza and 100 percent was donated to People to People.

"We were thrilled to support Rockland County’s largest food pantry, which helps thousands of struggling Rocklanders throughout the year to gain access to food, back-to-school items and clothing," said Satyen Shah, owner of PizzaRev.

"It was an honor to be selected as the grand opening charity for PizzaRev," said Diane Serratore, executive director of People to People. "We are grateful to them and to the 600 folks who came out to try the great food and support our organization.

"The $4,000 is a true gift that will help People to People feed the more than 40,000 Rocklanders that come to us each year for help in putting food on their tables."

PizzaRev features a craft-your-own-pizza assembly process and its "Roman-style" thin and crispy pizza that has won a loyal following in the Los Angeles area.

Customers first choose their crust -- signature thin, double dough or gluten-free, each from homemade dough. They then choose from four sauces -- including organic marinara, white alfredo and a spicy-sweet BBQ -- and cheeses, meats and veggies. The pizzas are $8.25, regardless of selected ingredients are selected.

Pizzas are then crisped in the custom-built, stone hearth oven in under three minutes.

Continuing the opening celebration, the new Nanuet restaurant is also hosting a free-to-enter sweepstakes, where five lucky guests will win free pizza for a year. Folks can fill out an entry form at the Nanuet location, in the Toys R Us shopping Center, or online, here. Enter by July 31.
