By just about every measure, Suffern’s Grace VanderWaal has had a dynamite year.

The 12-year-old spent the summer competing on the top-rated television show, earning millions of fans and praise from a panel of judges, including the historically hard-to-please Simon Cowell, who compared her to pop sensation Taylor Swift.

In September, she became the show’s season winner, taking home a $1 million grand prize.

The following month, she returned to Suffern, where she was presented the first ever Key to Rockland County by County Executive Ed Day.

On Dec. 2, VanderWaal is to release “Perfectly Imperfect,” her first EP from Columbia Records. The album, which features the original song, “I Don’t Know My Name,” is available for pre-order now.
