The Social Justice Celebration, which serves as an annual prelude to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, had been scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 17, at the Nyack Seaport, lohud.com said.

According to college President Michael G. Scales, some individuals might intend to use the Social Justice gathering for another reason, which would be a distraction from the purpose of the event, lohud.com said.
