Lane Closures Expected In Orangetown On Route 340 East

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Motorists are advised that the eastbound lane of Route 340 between Route 303 and Kings Highway in Orangetown is expected to be closed on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 29, so crews may perform utility work, the state Department of Transportation announced.

There will be no impact on westbound traffic. Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers. Eastbound motorists should follow the posted detour.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
