New Toll System Test In Nyack Leads To Ramp Closures

NYACK, N.Y. --- As weather permits, field testing of the Tappan Zee Bridge project’s temporary cashless tolling system in Rockland County will continue throughout the coming week near on-ramps to the southbound New York State Thruway near Nyack.

The affected locations are I-87/I-287) at Exit 10 (Nyack-South Nyack-U.S. Route 9W) and Exit 11 (Nyack-South Nyack-U.S. Route 9W). 

The testing of the system, also known as the all-electronic toll collection, will necessitate closing the on-ramps during the overnights on Saturday and from Monday through Saturday, March 5. 

Drivers will be directed to use the Exit 12 (West Nyack-N.Y. Route 303-Palisades Center Drive) on-ramp from Route 303 in West Nyack.

Signs will be posted to advise motorists of the detour route. 

In addition, the work will require the overnight closure of up to three lanes of the southbound Thruway during the coming week. 

The cashless tolling system is expected to be activated this spring.
