Queenie Is Hi Tor Pet of the Week

POMONA, N.Y. -- Queenie is a 4-year-old female domestic shorthair cat who came into care of the Hi Tor Animal Care Center, Rockland County's animal shelter, after her owner died.

Queenie will soon have been at the shelter for two years, and she's looking for her "furever" home.

"Queenie is a small and sweet cat," the shelter notes. "She's very chatty and loves to play," but "it takes her a little time to warm up to people."

The shelter also adds that she does well with other cats, and she'd probably be best with kids 10 and up.

"This sweet girl will be at the shelter for two years next month, so we hope that she will not make that anniversary and find her happily ever after way before that," the shelter says. "Won't you be the one to give her a happy holiday season in a nice warm and comfy home?"

Call 845-354-7900 or email info@hitor.org for more information, or stop by the shelter. It's located at 65 Firemen's Memorial Drive, in Pomona, and open from noon to 5, Thursday through Tuesday.
