The program, Youth Connections, aims to help young people who are out of school find employment, training services and work experience leading to successful placement, according to a statement from Rockland County Executive Ed Day.

A collaborative program with the Rockland County Career Center, Youth Connections involves a partnership between the Workforce Development Board of Rockland County, Rockland Community College and Rockland BOCES.

In addition to the services the program provides to people not enrolled in an academic program, it also provides career planning and tutorial services to matriculating students, Day said.

"We are very excited that Rockland County is leading the way in preparing our youth to secure good jobs," he said in the statement.

Lucy Redzeposki, the county's director of economic growth and tourism and executive director of the Workforce Development Board, is expected to describe to the program and showcase its results at the New York Association of Training & Employment Professional’s Northeast Regional Youth Academy Excellence in Youth Programming Conference, according to officials.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Rockland to share its best practices with youth providers throughout the state," she said.

Redzeposki is to be joined by Stephanie Compasso and Christopher D’Ambrese of Rockland BOCES, Day said.

Youth Connections is and located at the BOCES Educational Resource Center in Nyack. It offers paid work experiences, internships, guidance and counseling, vocational training, resume and interview workshops and tutoring among other services.
