Train Strikes Car At Same Congers Crossing For Second Time In 3 Days

CONGERS, N.Y. -- A train struck an unoccupied car at the Lake Road crossing in Congers for the second time in three days on Saturday.

The latest incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Road and Rockland Avenue.

The latest incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Rockland Avenue.

The car was apparently stuck on the tracks and the occupants were able to get out of the vehicle before the train came.

There were no injuries to any members of the train crew.

On Thursday, a cargo train hit an unoccupied vehicle just a few feet away, at the intersection of Lake Road and Burnside Avenue.
