WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- A workshop for special needs students focusing on how to transition to college will be held tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 9 in West Nyack.

The program is for students who have an IEP or 504 Plan and is open to students and their parents, as well as professionals. The program will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight at the Rockland BOCES Conference Center 65 Parrott Road, Building 10 West Nyack.

No registration is required, said Dawn Kitz Rockland BOCES Teacher, Project SEARCH Co-Chairperson.

Rockland BOCES Transition Services staff has the experience, resources and expertise to assist students with a wide range of disabilities in preparing for and making transition to post-school learning, living and working. This is achieved by carefully assessing each student’s abilities and crafting a comprehensive transition plan tailored to each individual. The approach is also collaborative — by partnering with students, families and the community, we help our students achieve their greatest potential.
