CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Auxiliary officers from the Clarkstown Police Department gathered this week to honor colleagues who have passed away, said police Chief Michael R. Sullivan.

During ceremonies Tuesday, Jan. 26, a memorial ceremony was held whle a plaque with the names of the 10 officers was place in the police station’s lobby, Sullivan said.

The officers honored were: George Lopez, Peter Cammizzi, Edward Reiff, Joseph Caccamo, Nancy Fuchs, Vincent Vitiello, Otto Stern, Donald Mellon, Dr. Allan Gashio, and Abe Gerstenzang.

"We count on the dedication these officers provide to the department," Sullivan said, adding that he hoped that members of the public would feel free to stop by and read the plaque.

The police station is located at 20 Maple Ave., New City.
