Titled "Who Is Your Clarkstown Policeman?," the note describes an officer as someone who waves people through busy intersections, saves children with an inhalator, gives parking tickets and more.

"He's the bearer of sad tidings...the untangler of traffic in blizzards...the Solomon who settles squabbles between neighbors," said former Chief of Police Ernest Wiebicke in the letter.

According to the Clarkstown Police Department, the letter's words hold true five decades later.
