Nanuet Man In Chase Sexually Abused 16-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- A Nanuet man accused of leading a police chase to the George Washington Bridge after a hit-and-run crash was charged with arranging a meeting with a 16-year-old New Milford girl, performing "lewd acts" while she was in his car and sending her sexually explicit photos of himself.

Michael DePalma, 38, was being held on $115,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail following his arrest Tuesday on charges of criminal sexual contact and manufacturing child pornography, Detective Kevin Van Saders said.

A day earlier, DePalma posted $50,000 bail and was released from the jail after Palisades Interstate Parkway charged him with eluding, obstruction and several drug counts.

The New Milford girl told detectives in February that the girl agreed to meet DePalma in town after he connected with her online.
