Randolfo Ventillo, 49, of New City, has been a corrections officer for 15 years, according to Sheriff Louis Falco III.
Ventillo was arrested after police accused him of providing heroin to prostitutes in exchange for sex, Falco said.
He has been suspended without pay from his job while the investigation is under way, the sheriff added.
Falco said one of the alleged encounters led to a woman overdosing while she was sitting in a car with Ventillo.
Ventillo didn’t try to help the unconscious woman or call 911 for medical assistance, the sheriff said.
A witness, police said, eventually called 911 and the woman was revived by emergency medical crews and rushed to the hospital.
Police said Ventillo has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both felonies; official misconduct, a misdemeanor; and third-degree patronizing a prostitute, a misdemeanor.
Ventillo was arraigned in the Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to jail on $75,000 bail.
He was scheduled to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court this afternoon.
