Raymond Dennison Jr., 32, was arrested on a warrant for assault on an officer and faces new charges that include assault on an officer in the second degree, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a controlled substance and obstructing governmental administration on June 6.

The warrant charge stems from 2015 when Dennison was arrested on a family court warrant and allegedly assaulted a sheriff's officer during the arrest.

Dennison was out on bail and failed to appear for court before an investigation was launched into Dennison's whereabouts. Once he was located, officers again approached Dennison to apprehend him when he again allegedly assaulted a police officer during the arrest process.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility without bail. The injured officer was released following treatment.

The Orangetown and Ramapo police departments, the Rockland County Intelligence Center and the Sheriff's Office collaborated on the investigation into Dennison's location.
