Person Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train En Route From Grand Central

A person was struck and killed by a Metro-North New Haven Line train near the Milford, Conn., station early Tuesday morning.

Metro-North said the incident occurred at around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday. A train that had departed Grand Central Terminal at 12:08 a.m. struck and killed a person who was trespassing on the tracks, a Metro-North spokesperson said.

The train was delayed about 90 minutes and the passengers were switched to another train and taken to Milford. The scene was cleared and the incident will not have an effect on the morning commute, the spokesperson said.

No other information on the person struck was available early Tuesday morning.
