The home invasion took place at 8:30 p.m. when the homeowner was confronted by Kyle Johnson, 30, of the Bronx, Jamon Sutton, 33 of the Bronx, and James Capeles, 26, of Brooklyn, when he walked into his garage on Newport Drive to retrieve something, said Officer Peter Walker.

The 49-year-old victim told police that when he entered the garage two men pointed guns at him and demanded money and jewelry, police said.

The victim gave the suspects an unknown amount of cash before they fled on foot to a waiting vehicle. The vehicle was later stopped on the New York State Thruway and the three were taken into custody without incident, police said.

After a search of the area a loaded 9mm and a loaded 40 caliber pistol were recovered. The suspects were transported to police headquarters for processing, Walker said.

All three men have been charged with felony burglary, felony robbery and criminal possession of stolen property. They were to be arraigned late Thursday..
