Two Charged With Shoplifting At Palisades Center

CLARKTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown police have arrested two men on charges of shoplifting from a Best Buy store at Palisades Center shopping mall.

Police arrested Andre Pritchard, 44, of Bloomington, and Michael DeMaio, 46, of Marlboro, about 12:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Clarkstown officers responded to Best Buy on a report of shoplifting. The suspects reportedly were observed by employees taking merchandise valued at $1,395, police said. The suspects attempted to leave the scene, but were apprehended by responding patrol units, police said. 

Pritchard and DeMaio were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Pritchard also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a violation. 

Pritchard and DeMaio were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail.
