Scott starts Monday. She will finish the term of Herby Jean-Charles, whose resignation came Friday, said lohud.com.
The mayor told lohud.com Scott has over 10 years' experience and is "capable of doing the job."
“I want to move the village forward,” the mayor told lohud.com.
In 2013, Delhomme did not reappoint Scott as village clerk, instead choosing Kathryn Ball, whom he appointed deputy village clerk, lohud.com recounted.
But village board members have opposed Ball's appointment, according to the lohud.com report.
“I didn't remove (Scott) because of bad things; I removed her because I had to bring my own people in,” Delhomme told lohud.com.
