Schwartz, Russo Win County Justice Race

Democrats Larry Schwartz and Kevin Russo are leading in the race for two vacant seats at Rockland Court Justice.

Here are how the votes were tallied up, according to unofficial election results:

  • Schwartz (D): 66,300
  • Russo (D): 65,500
  • Loftus (R): 50,292
  • Gerber (WEP): 7,511

The seat carries a 10-year term. 

Schwartz is a currently a private practice attorney and former county assistant district attorney. 

Loftus is an Orangetown town justice and presides over the county misdemeanor court.

Russo is a village justice in West Haverstraw and former acting town justice in Stony Point and Clarkstown.

Gerber is a Clarkstown Town Justice and previously served as an assistant district attorney in Rockland and Westchester, and as Clarkstown town attorney. He has a private practice in Nanuet and in Westchester.
