Carmel Students Explore 'The Funny Side of Fate'

CARMEL, N.Y. -- The Carmel High School Drama Club will present "The Funny Side of Fate: a Showcase of One Act Plays" in four performances, beginning Thursday, Nov. 10.

Student directors Chloe Blaney and Cole Doherty have selected none one-act plays by author Mark Harvey Levine, under the guidance of the club's drama adviser, Margaret Carey.

The production consists of "unique, unconnected 10-minute plays that will take the audience through a roller-coaster ride of entertaining stories and unbelievable situations," organizers note.

Here are the days and times for the four performances:

  • Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m.

The student cast comprises 30 students: Samantha Altman, Brynn Alvord, Amanda Behnken, Chloe Blaney, Alison Devane, Cole Doherty, Asher Duke, Julia Field, Andriy Gura, Ben Hitchcock, Erik Konschak, Autumn Laughin, Ayden Mallegol, Martin Mangan, Caraline McDonnell, Lena McKee, Erin Mendez, Dom Milazzo, Stephanie Ogebor, Grayce Orser, Jovani Perez, Deanna Prekpalaj, Liz Pulley, James Purr, Beck Spears, Liam Tuffy, Anthony Velez, Rachel Vetterman, Aidan Wilk and Natalie Wright.

The crew is lead by stage manager Joe Micale and assistant stage manager Cat Fox and includes Adam Friedman, Alicia Brancato, Allison Sanel, Bridget Donelan, Caitlin Krause, Caitlin Pachonka, Caitlin Roth, Chess Cabrera, Kerrie Larsen, Emily Loughran, Hannah Malone, Kaylie Mallegol, Kristen Stoecker, Liz Drury, Luke Herrera, Lydia Rubin, Matt Pulley, Megan Young, Rachel Wahlers, Ruthie Terman, Sara Peterson, Stefanie Guggisberg and Tessa Price.

All tickets are assigned seating. Tickets are $15 for premium seats, in the first three rows; $12 for adults and $10 for students. You can buy them online here.

All performances will be held at Casey Hall at Carmel High School, 30 Fair St.
