CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown North High School's Jordan Turner was given the New York State History Day Teacher of the Year Award at the annual state-level National History Day competition held in Cooperstown on April 18.

In order to win this honor, Turner was first nominated by the students, parents and teachers of the community.

Then, the nomination, along with essays and letters of recommendation detailing Turner's extraordinary ability, were reviewed by the New York State History Day organization.
