High Lead Levels Detected At All 13 Schools In Clarkstown Central District

Officials at the Clarkstown Central School District said Thursday that high levels of lead were detected in the water at all 13 of its schools.

A total of 88 sinks and 16 fountains had lead levels above the EPA guidelines and have been turned off, Superintendent J. Thomas Morton said in a letter to parents.

In addition, all bathroom sinks with levels above the guideline will remain in service for hand washing but will be placarded with a notice stating, “Do Not Drink Water from Bathroom Sinks," Morton said.
