NANUET, N.Y. -- Young people buying alcohol will be carded twice and reminded of the regulation at 11 stores in Nanuet.
Two forms of ID must be produced at cooperating businesses, thanks to a team effort involving students at Nanuet High School and Clarkstown police.
In an effort to curb underage alcohol use and abuse, and to avoid the tragic consequences of underage drinking, students and police officer Frank Negri stopped by stores in the hamlet that sell alcoholic beverages.
The businesses will display posters, stickers and handouts at their stores.
