Police, Students Team To Curb Underage Drinking In Nanuet

NANUET, N.Y. -- Young people buying  alcohol will be carded twice and reminded of the regulation at 11 stores in Nanuet.

Two forms of ID must be produced at cooperating businesses, thanks to a team effort involving students at Nanuet High School and Clarkstown police.

In an effort to curb underage alcohol use and abuse, and to avoid the tragic consequences of underage drinking, students and police officer Frank Negri stopped by stores in the hamlet that sell alcoholic beverages.

The businesses will display posters, stickers and handouts at their stores.

This illustrated artwork by local students will put underage customers on notice that they will be asked for two forms of identification before they can purchase alcohol products at: 

  • 7 - Eleven.
  • Buy Wise Liquor and Wine.
  • Posa Posa (not on list.).
  • Citgo Mart.
  • Corner News and Deli.
  • Growler and Gill.
  • Gulf Express.
  • Mobil on the Run.
  • Nanuet Minimart.
  • Smashburger.
  • Thruway Deli.
