CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Ms. Brinkman's second grade class at Woodglen Elementary School has been working on a research project about continents in recent weeks.

The students learned skills such as finding the important facts in text, taking notes and how to analyze information after collection.

Their research on topics such as population, economics, flora and fauna came from information text and reference books as well as videos and websites during class and at home under parental supervision.

The class learned to sing "We Are the World," and will perform the song this week for Spirit Day.
