Crowds Come Out In Rain To Run, Walk At North Rockland Community Day 5K

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. - A nice crowd turned out at Haverstraw's Bowline Point Park on a warm, rainy Sunday morning to participate in North Rockland Community Day's 13th annual 5K Run/Walk.

Runners navigated a circular course that toured the scenic park, and included a stretch that ran right along the riverfront just prior to reaching the finish line.

Fifteen-year-old Patrick Tuohy, from North Rockland High, won the men's race, touring the 3.1-mile course in 16:24. Ryan Guzinski, 17, also from North Rockland High, was second at 16:34. Both are members of the NRHS cross country team.

Britney Pezzementi, 14, also of North Rockland, was the first female, clocking in at 20:09.

Proceeds benefit North Rockland residents Terri Pileggi, Marcoux, Jose Ramirez Flores and Angelica Hicks.
