Sixty5 On Main opened to friends and family back in July but held its grand opening on Aug. 18. The 12-year-old Suffern girl will perform live Tuesday night on "America's Got Talent," which airs at 8 p.m. on NBC-TV. VanderWaal became an internet sensation back in June when she performed her original song "I Don't Know My Name" before being labeled "the next Taylor Swift" by Judge Simon Cowell.  Since then VanderWaal has performed locally at the Palisades Credit Union Park and most recently at the Lafayette Theatre in Suffern.

Route 45 Roadwork To Cause Delays In Chestnut Ridge On Tuesday CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y. - A section of Route 45 in Chestnut Ridge will be closed Tuesday for emergency maintenance work, the state Department of Transportation announced.  The southbound lane of Route 45 from Red Schoolhouse Road to Hungry Hollow Road is estimated to be closed from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. A detour is posted and will divert traffic onto Red Schoolhouse Road heading east, then onto Summit Road heading south before getting back onto Route 45. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use caution when traveling through a work zone.

New Generator In Airmont Makes Sure No Storm, Power Outage Gets In The Way AIRMONT, N.Y. - Back in June a utility pole went down near the Airmont Village Hall, severing power to the building and bringing the village’s court proceedings to a halt, Trustee Ralph Bracco recalled. O&R eventually restored the power and things proceeded as usual. But now the village hall won’t have to contend with future power issues. On Wednesday local officials unveiled a new standby generator at Airmont Village Hall on Cherry Lane Road.
