New Storm System Will Bring More Soaking Rain, Strong Wind Gusts To Region
Just days after a potent Nor'easter pounded the region with downpours, flash flooding, and dangerous winds, a new storm system will bring more soaking rain and strong wind gusts.
There will be a respite from the wet weather on Thursday, Oct. 28 with partly cloudy skies, a high temperature in the mid 50s, and calm winds.
A large area of low pressure is then forecast to shift from the central United States across the Northeast, according to the National Weather Service.

Brace For Isolated Twisters, Flash Flooding Across NJ, Forecasters Say
Up to three inches of rain, flash flooding and damaging winds were expected Thursday across New Jersey.
A flash flood watch was in effect for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties Thursday morning into Friday.
Severe thunderstorms with potential for isolated twisters were also possible, the National Weather Service says.
The main threat was expected midday Thursday into the early overnight hours, the NWS says.
Storms were, however, expected to move out quickly Friday.
Here Comes Fred: Storm Will Bring Downpours, Localized Flooding, Isolated Tornadoes Possible
The remnants of Fred, which is now a Post-Tropical Cyclone, will bring locally heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding to the region, with isolated tornadoes possible.
The time frame for the main brunt of storm activity in the area will be Wednesday night, Aug. 18 into around noontime Thursday, Aug. 19.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Parts Of Region With Strong Winds, Tornadoes Possible
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now been issued for parts of the region.
It lasts until 11 p.m. Monday, June 21, and covers Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Greene, Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Otsego, Rensselaer, and Schenectady counties in New York, Litchfield County in Connecticut, and Berkshire County in Massachusetts.
Torrential rainfall is possible during storm activity. Large hail of 1 inch in diameter or greater, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado or two are the main threats, said the National Weather Service, which issued the watch.
