Cooler Air Arrives In Clarkstown With Thunderstorms Possible

After sweltering through a min-heat wave, area residents woke up Saturday to much cooler temperatures and overcast clouds.

The forecast for the weekend is potentially a rainy one, with high temperatures nearly 20 degrees lower than on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. But it should not put a damper on the whole weekend.

Saturday will see a 40 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3 p.m. It will be cloudy, with a high in the low 70s.

There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night, with cloudy skies and a low near 63 degrees. 

On Sunday, there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Again, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. 

Monday will be mostly sunny and cool, with a high near 78 before temperatures begin to heat up again on Tuesday.
