Robert C. Opperman III, 39, Warwick Plumber WARWICK, N.Y. – Robert C. Opperman III of Warwick, a plumber with John Neubauer Heating and Air Conditioning in Woodcliff Lake, N.J., died on Oct. 25 at home. He was 39. The son of Robert C. Opperman Jr. and Grace Opperman, Opperman was born on July 26, 1978 in Englewood. Survivors include the love of his life Susanne O’Keefe and her daughters Katherine and Gracie O’Keefe at home. State Police Charge New York City Man With Driving Stolen Car In Cornwall CORNWALL, N.Y. – State Police charged a New York City man with possessing a stolen vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 87 in Cornwall on Saturday. Troopers pulled over Joel F. Narchet, 20, for several vehicle and traffic violations. Narchet was placed under arrest after it was discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen to the New York City Police Department, Troopers said. Narchet was charged with possession of stolen property as well as several vehicle violations. He was remanded to Orange County Jail, Troopers said.

'BIG' News: FAO Schwarz Makes Comeback With New Store In Newburgh NEWBURGH, N.Y. – FAO Schwarz, New York City's most famous toy store has found new life and plans to open its doors in the Newburgh Mall, according to the Consumerist. Bon-Ton will open toy stores in all of its 186 locations under the FAO Schwarz brand. The Newburgh site will open on Saturday, Nov. 4 and will remain open all year, the Consumerist said. Walden Woman Admits To Stealing $1.5M From NYC Doctor's Office WALDEN, N.Y. – A Walden woman admitted to stealing nearly $1.5 million from the three New York City doctors she worked for on Thursday, according to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance. Jacqueline Camaro, 59, spent nearly a decade depositing approximately 900 checks totaling $1.4 million from patients into her personal accounts. Sparrowbush Man Attempted To Sell Crack In Port Jervis, Police Say PORT JERVIS, N.Y. – A Sparrowbush man is facing several drug charges after attempting to sell crack in Port Jervis, authorities said. Rey Colon, 50, was arrested and charged on Thursday uring a surveillance operation, Port Jervis Police said. Colon is charged with: Three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. fifth-degree criminal possession. Orange County Inmate Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted Murder Charges GOSHEN, N.Y. – An inmate at Orange County Jail pleaded not guilty to second-degree attempted murder charges on Thursday, according to the Times Herald-Record. Jermain Boykin, 40, allegedly attempted to strangle another inmate, James Beckwith while in the jail awaiting trial on drug charges. Beckwith is serving time in Orange County Jail for having shot Boykin in February of this year over a shared love interest, the Record reported. Boykin is due in court again on Oct. 30. Trick Or Treat With The Newburgh Police On Halloween NEWBURGH, N.Y. – City of Newburgh Police Officers are inviting children to go trick or treating with them this Halloween. On-duty officers will have candy in their vehicles between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Oct. 31. Officers will be stopping at random locations in the city along with approaching groups of the youth to give out the candy. Officers will also be at the Recreation Center on Washington Street for Trunk or Treat.

Newburgh Man Faces 12 Years In Prison For Sex Trafficking NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A Newburgh man admitted to using violence and coercion to get women to work for his prostitution ring on Friday, according to the Times Herald-Record. Theodore Edwards, 50, pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges in exchange for a sentence of 12 years. Edwards remains in jail and will officially be sentenced in December, the Record said. Ex-Police Officer Killed Middletown Men Over Drug Money, Prosecutors Say MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Prosecutors believe a former police officer and Mount Hope man who was roped into a drug trafficking scheme killed four Middletown man over stolen money, according to the Times Herald-Record. Court documents presented by the prosecution allege Nicholas Tartaglione and his conspirators lured Martin Luna to the Likquid Lounge in Chester under false pretenses in an effort to recover their stolen money.
