Preserve New Fairfield Hosts House, Garden Tour NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The semi-annual Preserve New Fairfield House and Garden Tour returns on Sunday, July 17.  The self-guided tour will visit locations all around New Fairfield, including the rumored site of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio's honeymoon.  The tour will begin at 11 a.m. at the Community Room above Senior Center (33 Route 37).  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased until 12:30 p.m. Locations will be revealed the day of the tour.  Proceeds will benefit Preserve New Fairfield's dedication to the life and stories of the town's historic structures.

Darien Home Robbed Of Safe Containing Gun DARIEN, Conn. -- A safe containing a gun was stolen from an Arrowhead Way home, according to the Darien Times.  The resident reported on Tuesday, July 5 at around 7 p.m. that the master bedroom had been robbed of two safes during a home burglary, the Darien Times said.  The safe containing the Glock 9mm handgun had been bolted down, and a second floor window in the home's master bathroom was broken, reported the Darien Times.  Click here to read the Darien Times article.

No. 1 recently built on previous FAST team training with a drill at the Rockland County fire training center.  The probationary members went through hose drills simulating an initial attack on a fire.
