Sheriff Warns Area Residents Of Kidnapping Phone Scam DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to residents about the kidnapping phone scan.  In the scam that's been on the rise over the past few days, a scammer calls a victim to claim a relative has been hurt, arrested or kidnapped and needs money immediately.  The latest version of the scam involves claiming a loved one has been kidnapped and that the victim must send or bring money to a designated location. County Announces Hiring Of Three New Police Officers WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The three County Police Officer positions recently restored to the Department of Public Safety have been filled.  The bipartisan coalition of legislators that passed the 2016 County Budget announced that the new hires are law enforcement professionals working in local municipalities. New Fairfield Prepares To Roll Out Olde Tyme Carnival NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The New Fairfield Lions Club's annual Old Tyme Carnival will return Tuesday, July 19 through Saturday, July 23.  The carnival will feature amusement rides by Stewart Amusement, live music from local bands and food cooked and served by the lions.  Ride bracelets will be available for purchase.  Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m., and the carnival closes nightly at 10:30 p.m.  Olde Tyme Carnival is located at Consolidated School's sports fields at 12 Gillotti Road.
